Fiber-optic internet is an advanced type of internet connection that uses thin strands of glass or plastic fibers to transmit data as pulses of light. This technology enables exceptionally fast and reliable internet speeds, making it ideal for activities such as streaming, gaming, and video conferencing. Compared to traditional broadband connections, fiber-optic internet offers higher speeds, lower latency, and symmetrical upload and download speeds, providing users with a seamless online experience.
To determine your current internet speed, you can perform a speed test using free online tools such as Ookla. You should expect your internet speed to be at a minimum of 100 MBPS (the more the better). This speed is suitable for most online activities, including HD streaming, video conferencing, online gaming, and general web browsing.
VIP Fiber first requires that you confirm your address is serviceable, and then you can ask for a quote.
Once your request has been sent, a sales rep will contact you within 48 hours to schedule a site survey. This requires a technician to come to your home and survey your location.
The technician will report your survey results to the team, and your sales rep will follow up with details about the site survey results and a timeline to connect you to VIP’s internet services. Please keep in mind that timelines will vary depending on the results of your site survey.
Once you’ve scheduled your installation date with your sales rep, a technician will visit your location and connect you to internet services. The technician will take about an hour to get you hooked to internet services.
